Hi, I’m Scott. Let’s play!

As a musician, I view myself as having more heart than credentials and accolades, so this will be short and sweet.

I love to play bongo, timbal, and batá, but my primary instrument is the tumbadora, aka the conga. I’m known for playing hard, with fervor, and “saoco” -that unmistakable swing, swagger, and drive that brings attitude and energy to the music.

Currently, I play congas with The Ray Vega Afro-Caribbean Jazz Ensemble, and timbales with Guagua. You may also catch me sitting in with various combos around town.

I love to teach, too. I offer lessons to individuals and groups, in-person and online, as well as college courses for beginner and intermediate students at the University of Vermont.
