Hello, my name is Scott. I am a musician, educator, and student of Afro-Cuban traditional and popular music. My primary instrument is the conga drum, and I also play bongó, timbales, and batá. I specialize in Salsa and Latin Jazz genres; music that emphasizes fervor, swing, and forward drive.
Currently, I play congas with the Ray Vega Afro-Caribbean Jazz Ensemble, timbales with Guagua, and congas with Salsa Meets Jazz, with residencies at Hotel Vermont and The126.
I also offer lessons, in person and online, for individuals and groups, and I teach courses for beginner and intermediate students at the University of Vermont.
